The seaside village of Windsor features architecture and landscape design that celebrates local history, climate, ecology, and traditional building practices.
Windsor's Spaces
Windsor is defined as much by its unforgettable community spaces as its captivating private spaces. There are narrow streets, welcoming squares and lush greens.
Windsor consists of the Village and the South Village, each street lined with charming homes, hidden courtyards and gardens. Expansive estates sit on the perimeter of the golf course and along the Atlantic shoreline.
Village Centre
All roads at Windsor lead to the Village Centre.
A Meeting Place
Designed by architect Scott Merrill, Windsor’s Village Centre is entered through an enchanting allée of live oaks and is situated at the convergence of five roads. With many community amenities located there, the Village Centre is an ideal place for Members to meet neighbors and catch up.
Village Store
The Village Store offers casual fare to eat in or take away as well as a curated selection of groceries, sundries, daily newspapers and wine. Recognized as Windsor’s hub, the Village Store is a morning hot spot for families and friends who enjoy the fresh coffee, smoothies and breakfast options. At lunch time, golfers and tennis enthusiasts fill its tables for post-game meals and social time.
Places to Gather
The Exedra, an amphitheater designed for concerts and performances, the Pergola, and the Village Centre greens are charming settings for special events. With theme dinners, Member parties, art and cultural programs, and children’s activities, there is always something taking place in these delightful spaces during season.
Dog Friendly
Windsor has a very dog-friendly culture and Members often bring their four-legged friends along to relax in the Village Centre after a workout in the nearby Dog Park, Windsor’s designated off-leash area. Dogs, on-leash, are welcome to lounge at the Village Store loggia where fresh water and treats are always on hand.
Events
A robust calendar of events that take place on the greens and at the Exedra and the Pergola includes theme dinners, wine tastings, rehearsal dinners, and concerts and performances. Every season, the greens are also transformed to accommodate special events including a catwalk for fashion shows.
CONCIERGE & POST OFFICE
Practical matters can be handled with ease at the Concierge Office and Post Office before or after workouts at the Fitness Centre. Members can stop by to pick up mail, handle business needs, arrange local excursions or reserve the Concierge Boardroom for small- to medium-sized meetings.
The Windsor Experience
The Windsor experience begins as one arrives, passing under the community’s iconic allée of live oaks. From there, myriad opportunities abound for sporting, socializing or quiet time.
The Gallery
The Gallery at Windsor is home to important works of art from the George Weston Collection and is host to museum-caliber exhibitions of contemporary art.
Town Hall
Designed by renowned architect Léon Krier, Windsor’s Town Hall is a symbol of the community, a meeting place, lecture and concert hall and nondenominational chapel that is ideal for Member-hosted fairy-tale weddings.
