Windsor Hosts Performance by Ballet Vero Beach
On Thursday, March 14, 2019 Windsor was pleased to host a performance by non-profit cultural arts organization, Ballet Vero Beach. Attended by more than 130 Windsor Members, the evening’s program featured professional company dancers, Katherine Eppink, Camilo A. Rodriguez, and Anders Southerland. Artistic Director and CEO Adam Schnell presided over the event.
Hosted at Windsor’s Pergola, the performance was comprised of four works including Art Is All Around Us, Love Me Always, Harlequin/Pierrot, and Ballade. Following the performance guests enjoyed a reception and opportunity to mingle with Ballet Vero Beach’s artistic staff. The complimentary event was sponsored by Windsor Marketing. Guests were asked to make a donation to The Windsor Charitable Foundation in support of local educational and community outreach programs offered by Ballet Vero Beach.
“We were thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response to our first outdoor ballet performance,” said Jane Smalley, Marketing Director for Windsor. “We look forward to welcoming Ballet Vero Beach back next season and building on this success.”
The mission of Ballet Vero Beach is to promote the art of dance as a universal language in the local community and beyond. The organization seeks to accomplish this goal with performances by its professional company, the presentation of reputable national and international dance artists, and through educational and community outreach programs.
“We have been working with Windsor since our inception and I am so grateful that we have finally arrived at the point of our first fully staged performance on the Windsor property,” said Adam Schnell, Artistic Director and CEO for Ballet Vero Beach. “Our company is not only lucky to perform in such an idyllic setting, but for such a philanthropic group of arts lovers. Vero Beach is a stronger and more beautiful community thanks to the Windsor membership, staff, and charitable foundation. We look forward to many more successful collaborations.”
Throughout the season, Ballet Vero Beach presents the Riverside Dance Festival and the spectacular original production of Nutcracker on the Indian River, which provides an opportunity for professional dancers, local dance students, and school children with no previous dance training to come together on stage.
In addition, Ballet Vero Beach offers complimentary performance tickets and outreach initiatives to 14 local social service non-profits, reaching audiences and groups ordinarily not served by the professional arts offerings in the area. They also provide two free student matinee performances each season aimed at ensuring each and every 3rd and 4th grader in Indian River County sees live professional dance every year.
